Lin-Manuel Miranda, the uber-popular creator of Broadway sensations Hamilton and In the Heights, has been signed by Showtime and Lionsgate to develop a television adaptation of The Kingkiller Chronicle, the best-selling fantasy trilogy by Patrick Rothfuss. The Kingkiller Chronicle is the story of Kvothe, a renowned musician and scholar living in the mythical world of Temerant. Miranda's adaptation will be set a generation before the events of the Kingkiller trilogy’s first novel, The Name of the Wind, which will allow the show to further develop the book's already expansive universe.
