Star Wars: The Last Jedi Drops Trailer on Monday Night Football
It's been nearly six months, and finally Disney and Lucasfilm have dropped a new official trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The trailer debuted during halftime of the Monday night football game between the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings. The clip offers a series of possible spoilers, and even director Rian Johnson cautioned viewers to avoid the trailer if they wanted to preserve “fresh eyes” for the film's actual release on December 15th. The one thing we do know, the film will focus heavily on the Skywalker family, Rey, and the villainous Emperor Snoke. “Let the past die if you have to, that’s the only way you become what you’re meant to be.” Kylo Ren's dark whisper offers a glimpse at the movie to come.
PageBreaks Take: Anticipation is building for The Last Jedi, but can it stand the inevitable comparisons to the juggernaut results of The Force Awakens? Chances are good that the film will easily become the biggest hit of 2017, even if it falls well short of the record-breaking $937 million brought in domestically by Episode VII.
