Star Trek: Discovery got off to a solid start on CBS, bringing in 9.6 million viewers for its premier, a number that is expected to grow to about 15 million when delayed viewing is added. Of course, beyond the first episode, viewers will only be able to watch the series by signing up for the CBS streaming service All Access. CBS is not offering specific figures, but reports an increase of 200% in the number of All Access subscriptions since the launch of the show. The increase, however, also corresponds to a free trial period, so it remains to be seen how many viewers will stick around once the monthly subscription fee comes due.

PageBreaks Take: If you live abroad, you can watch Star Trek: Discover on Netflix for no additional charge, a fact that has many U.S. viewers fuming.
