Hurricane Harvey Relief Telethon Set for September 12th at 8p ET

Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Harvey Relief is set to air live on September 12th across all the major broadcast networks - ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC, as well as cable network CMT. Beyonce, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Barbra Streisand, Reese Witherspoon, and Oprah Winfrey are among the stars scheduled to appear on the one-hour telethon that will raise money for Hurricane Harvey relief. As part of the show, country superstar George Strait will host a concert from the Majestic Theater in San Antonio, Texas. The telethon will originate from the Universal Studios lot in Los Angeles, Times Square New York, and Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry.

Proceeds from the event will be distributed to a range of charities aiding recovery efforts in Houston, including the United Way of Greater Houston, Habitat for Humanity, Save the Children, Feeding Texas and the Mayor’s Fund for Hurricane Harvey Relief. Telethon organizers, Bun B and Scooter Braun have also announced that proceeds will be extended to include those impacted by Hurricane Irma, which is making its way across the Caribbean to Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti. Cuba is also threatened as well as the east coast of the U.S.
