Bill Nye the "Litigious Guy" Sues Disney Over Lost Profits

Bill Nye the Science Guy is suing The Walt Disney Company, claiming misappropriation of over $28 million in profits from his iconic kids educational program. According to a lawsuit filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Nye has tried unsuccessfully to audit the Disney books, but has been stonewalled by the entertainment giant. Nye says that he became suspicious in 2008, when Disney informed him that he owed the company nearly $500,000 due to over payments as a result of an “accounting error.” According to the suit, the show’s costs were substantially underwritten by the National Science Foundation and the Department of Energy and those offsets were not accurately reflected in profit statements.
