Netflix Will Create Their Own Cinematic Universe

For the first time ever, Netflix has acquired another company, and it's the Scottish comic book publisher, Millarworld. Millarworld, founded in 2004 by comic book writer Mark Millar, is best known for series such as Old Man Logan, Kingsman, and Kick-Ass. Netflix will follow the strategy of Disney and Warner Bros. and attempt to develop a cinematic universe that will spawn film and television properties for years to come. While Kingsman and Kick-Ass are licensed to other producers, Netflix can develop other lesser known Millar franchises such as Jupiter’s Legacy (a dysfunctional superhero family), Huck (a gifted petrol station worker), and Duke McQueen (a space age hero past his prime). It will likely be well into 2019 before Netflix can bring any Millarworld titles to their 100 million subscribers.
