Warner Bros. announced today that the much anticipated sequel to the smash hit Wonder Woman will be released on December 13, 2019. Of course, Gal Gadot is on board to star, while director Patty Jenkins is expected to helm, but yet to be officially attached to the film. The second movie in the series was officially announced last week at San Diego Comic-Con, but at that time, no release date was given.

Gadot's character will next appear in this November's Justice League, alongside Batman, Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg. Wonder Woman 2 joins Justice League and Aquaman (Dec. 21, 2018) as the only DC films with release dates, but WB also showed artwork at SDCC for additional DCEU films including Shazam!, Flashpoint, The Batman, Batgirl, Justice League Dark, Green Lantern Corps, and Suicide Squad 2.

As for WW2, Warner Bros. Pictures president Toby Emmerich has told reporters that the sequel won’t take place during World War I, but is still likely to be set in the past. Many have speculated that the next film will be set in the United Stated during the Cold War. Wherever the setting, fans are sure to flock to see Princess Diana's next heroic adventure.
