Showing no signs of slowing down, the Warner Bros. superhero origin pic, Wonder Woman, dropped a minuscule 43% from its fantastic opening to win the box office crown in its second frame. With a total Fri-Sun take of $58.63 million, Wonder Woman's ten-day total now stands at $207 million. Overseas, the Gal Gadot/Patty Jenkins-directed adventure added another $58 million, bringing the international box office total to $230 million, and the worldwide tally to about $437 million after two weeks.
Meanwhile, Universal's The Mummy, starring Tom Cruise, had a muffled domestic opening, bringing in a weak $32 million on over 4,000 screens. The Dark Universe kick-starter enjoyed better success overseas, topping the charts in 45 territories, including China, and generating over $140 million in box office receipts. With generally poor reviews, and tepid audience word-of-mouth, the long-term prospects for The Mummy could be grim
